It seems big companies begin to have an interested look at Haiku nowadays.
As reported by ultrabill on BeOSfrance the famous Cyberlink company began porting PowerDVD to Haiku. The screenshot shown below is the alpha 1 version still under development.
It is probably the ability of the OS to easily manage video and sound that interested Cyberlink. For the moment there is no Blu-ray support because no translator is available for H264 and VC-1 codecs and because Java for Haiku is still under development too (will lead to missing functionalities on some movies).
Let’s hope this will make more companies to have a closer look at Haiku.
